My insanity journey begins: Day 1
Name: Krystal Mcvay
Day: 1
Goal: 150 LBS
Current Weight: 212 LBS
Weight Lost:
Mood: Feeling optimistic!
As you all know, my name is Krystal. My husband and I met while deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. Â I was about 133 lbs soaking yet, with a nice six pack and butt! He was about 190 ish… We worked out together or individually every chance we could while deployed. Working out was part of our lifestyle. Â I got really into running and pushing myself, and was extremely happy with my weight and confident in my body. When we got home and settled, I got pregnant and that’s where my health took a turn for the worst.
I had this HUGE misconception that while I was pregnant I could eat whatever I wanted. Since I was going to be gaining weight anyway… why not??? So I did just that. I ate EVERYTHING! Â The next thing I know, I am 210 lbs. I was massive pregnant!!! Once I gave birth, I was nursing so I got down to about 175 lbs.
All these pressures of being a new mom, living in a military town, and all my friends leaving  caused me to slip into this depression that I just couldn’t get out of. I ended up gaining all of that weight back, and I am now up to 212 lbs. My blood pressure is at about 165/90. My stomach, once a nice flat stack of abs, is just this nasty piece of flab hanging. Not to mention my hormones are out of whack which causes these crazy mood swings.
I have never battled with weight gain, or loss for that matter. I mean I have gotten chunky and gained 10 lbs before but that was nothing for me to lose…. I was a Marine for 7 years. I know how to exercise and take care of myself. So whats the difference now? Its so embarrassing, I dont even want anyone to know that I am a Veteran.
Anyway, the day I put on a pair of size 20 pants I KNEW I needed to change. Just a year and a half ago I was wearing a size 8… WHAT HAPPENED?
This, ladies and gents, is where I start changing my life for the better. My Neighbor and I decided to start Insanity. Since we both have babies we figured we could do it at home, not pay for a gym and have our babies with us! She literally lives next door!
My goal is to get down to at least 150 lbs by next fall, so I can fit into a wedding dress and have the wedding I’ve always wanted.
As always, I love to get comments or tips that may help me in my journey. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or just want to say hi. I’m always checking my comments and will reply asap. Thanks for reading and don’t forget to share below and like above!
